Control Panel Overview

First, let's take a quick walk through your control panel.

When you first log in, you will see an overview of your account including your profile information, the total number of credits you have used, and the number of credits you have available.

You will also see statistics for the links you have placed. The numbers are broken down by link type, the PageRank of the page that hosts the link, and whether it is a home page or a sub-page.

Along the left-hand side, you will see links to navigate within your control panel.

My Profile - Returns you to your Control Panel home page.

My Standard Link Ads - Allows you to create, place, and manage Standard Link Ads.

My Tags - enables you to manage custom tags, or categories, for link pages. As you browse through the inventory, you will likely find pages where you want to place links in the future, but not today. Tags allow you to categorize these pages to make them easier to find in the future. To learn more about tags and favorites, click here.

Buy Link Credits - Takes you to a page to purchase credits. For more information, click here.

Returned Credits - Gives you a snapshot of any credits that were returned because a link was removed by the publisher or our link monitor discovered that the PageRank changed or the link was no longer valid.

Affiliate Account - Allows you to join the BackLinks.com affiliate program. This program allows you to earn money by referring new users that become active in the system. Once you join, you will have access to links and banners as well as earning reports. For more information, view the Affiliate FAQ.

If at any time, you are unsure about how to get back to your control panel, simply click the Control Panel link at the top of the page.

Purchasing Credits

Now that you understand the basics of your control panel, let's talk about link credits.

Before you can place any links, you must first purchase credits.

Click on "Buy Link Credits" in the navigation.

On the Buy Credits page, you will see a pricing section that tells you the cost of each link, based on PageRank value and whether the page is a home page or a sub page.

1 Credit equals 1 US dollar.

To purchase credits, simply select the number of credits you would like to buy and choose your payment method. You can pay with PayPal or by credit card with 2Checkout.com.

Then, click the Purchase button.

This will redirect you to 2Checkout to finalize your purchase.

Once your payment is received, the credits will be added to your account, and your payment will automatically be re-billed each month unless you request a cancellation.

  • All credits expire at the end of each monthly billing cycle, whether they are used or not, and cannot be rolled over into future months. So, if you purchase 100 credits, but only use 75 during the month, you will still be rebilled for the full 100 credits.
  • If you want to lower the number of credits you have purchased or cancel a purchase at any time, just contact us at info@backlinks.com.
  • We offer a sizeable incentive for purchases over $500 a month. High-volume accounts receive an additional 10% worth of bonus credits, added on top of their purchase. For more information, contact us.

Placing Links

Once you have purchased your credits, you can start placing links.

Standard Link Ads - Stand-alone links that appear on a publisher's site. Often, they are displayed in the side navigation, but they may appear elsewhere on the page. (Video Tutorial)
